Abstract

This thesis presents the analysis of roles of Che in the movie of “Che: The Argentine 2008”. There were two roles of Che which were, Marxist revolutionist and Marxist guerilla leader, who helped many people especially in Cuba. Che Guevarra dedicated himself for the Cuban people to run the Marxist revolution in this country and to fight in against the Capitalism which was opposite of the Marxism, which disseminated the suffering and advantages for bourgeoisie. Also the dictatorship of Fulgencio Batista that he was in power controlling Cuba. In this film, the first was Che as the revolutionist by carrying out the revolution and changing the ideology from Capitalist to the Marxist ideology and the second was Che as guerilla leader for organizing the army, supporting the rural people, and fighting the Batista’s troops. So the impacts were Cuba became the Marxist ideology-based country and Fulgencio Batista was sacked by guerilla army led by Che, as he succeeded in making war with Batista’s troops so that Cuban people gained their freedom. This analysis used the theory of Karl Marx. This theory focused on the struggle between the proletarians (labors and workers) and bourgeoisie (landowners and rich people) fought each other, then the theory of Karl Marx emphasized that the proletarian revolution as the product to discipline the people how to sack capitalist society by being the Union of People by running the revolution to sack the Capitalism just like Karl Marx. This research used qualitative method which investigated roles of Che. This data had been collected from the film. The writer concluded there were two roles of Che, the first was as revolutionist and the second was a guerilla leader
