Abstract
The title of this thesis is “The Analysis of Moral Values in A Walk to Remember” novel written by Nicholas Sparks. The purpose of this study is to present the moral values contained in character in A Walk to Remember novel (1999). The theory that is used in this thesis is Bertens theory. Generally, literature is scientific material of source commonly used to make a paper or other scientific activities. Novel, poetry, essays, even film and drama are kind if literary work of imagination. Novel is one of prose forms as literary work which is more interesting and easier to be analyzed that other branches of literature. The researcher uses two primary and secondary data sources. Primary data is A Walk to Remember novel written by Nicholas Sparks in 1999. Secondary data are data sources that support this research such as journals, articles, related to the novel, and websites. Data were analyzed be qualitative description techniques, namely a research procedure with the results of descriptive data presentation in the form of the author’s quote in A Walk to Remember novel. After analyzing A Walk to Remember novel, the writer found nine kind of moral values such as Bravery, Honesty, Steadfastness, Sympathetic to other, Cooperativeness, Thankfulness, Kind-hearted, Trustworthiness, Love and Affection.
