Abstract

This study explores how women use language when writing product reviews on the Female Daily website. It uses Lakoff (1975) theory, which identifies ten features commonly found in women’s speech, such as intensifiers, emphatic expressions, and polite language. The data were taken from comments posted between April and June 2025. The findings show that the most frequently used features were intensifiers, lexical hedges, emphatic stress, and empty adjectives. Meanwhile, features like hypercorrect grammar, super polite forms, and precise color terms appeared less often, and some features were not found at all. These results suggest that women tend to use expressive, emotional, and persuasive language when communicating online, especially in a supportive community setting like Female Daily.
