Abstract

The writer used Divergent Novel as Subject Material to analyze the Genocide. Genocide is hatreds or discrimination, undemocratic systems of government and dysfunctions in society play a much smaller role in mass killing and genocide than is commonly assumed. This research focused on Benjamin A Valentino’s theory to analyze the aspects and families causes in genocide. The writer chose the theses of Ruvebana and Wisniew as his previous studies. This research employs qualitative method which is the type of method that use feelings, words, image, etc except numbers according on Walliman’s theory. The references for this study are collected from websites and directly collecting the data about genocide. The writer found that there are three aspects of genocide. They are Intentional, Massive Number and Noncombatant. In addition, genocide also happened due to three causes - Deep social cleaveages, Revolutions; Wars & National Crisis and Political Power.
